Come and find out  what we “do to ourselves” when we fall in love, and how boundaries, a key word in relationships, is rivaled by the other buzzword—control.  Attendees will understand how our approach to relationships is based upon expectations developed in childhood, and are shaped by society in the new digital age of instant communication, and media messages touting “no sweat intimacy.” Pat will show how for some this can lead to “anesthetizing” ourselves through alcohol, drug use, or by developing the tendency to take care of the one we love and forget about taking care of ourselves, codependency.
